Need Help

I will be traveling across the US with my husband this coming summer. He’s a long haul truck driver and me and my son plan to join him for a few weeks every now and then. I have no clue where well end up stopping in your state so I was hoping you could all help me by telling me cool kid friendly places to see. I know there will be times where we’ll be waiting a day or so to pick up or drop off and I’d love to use that free time to explore areas. I’m the kind of person who likes to plan as much as possible. So any and all recommendations of places to stop and see would be greatly appreciated

Thanks so much for all your help

Lisa

The Rt 138-Interstate 95 interchange would be a good stopping point for big trucks. From here you could check out the beaches of South County, RI -- Mystic, Stonington CT area (Aquarium, new Indian Museum, Casinos, shopping) or drive over to Newport. And if you like good bargain shopping, Ocean State Job Lot is at the interchange. Enjoy.

Hi Lisa,

My family and I recently moved to Charlestown RI. It is truly a beautiful area with lots of nature activities, yet 1/2 hr. to the ';city- life'; where you could catch a movie, mall walk, etc. We have the most beautiful beaches here.. miles and miles of coastline, From small family oriented beaches right up to Misquamicut Beach in Westerly RI, which is large, and has magic shows on the beach every Thurs night, lots of music, and entertainment, fireworks, a small water park area. This is an area with lots of neat nooks and crannies.

If you do a search.. some keywords are-- South County Rhode Island-- Washington County RI-- (means the same place)

some of the surrounding towns are Richmond RI, South Kingstown RI, Westerly RI, (which borders CT) then into CT. where the Mystic Aquarium is located.

Im not sure of the exact dates, but we have a fun annual Old Country Fair, annual seafood festival in Charlestown, Ningret concerts...all searchable on the internet!

Good luck in your travels wherever they take you! If you%26#39;d like anymore info, feel free to email me... Firefly970@aol.com

PS OH!! If youre into camping, we%26#39;ve got an awesome campground called Burlingame.
