25th Anniversary on May 2!

Has anyone been to Block Island in early May? I wonder if we%26#39;ll get bored with everything closed. We like hiking, but none of the reviews here have mentioned that as an activity. Surely we won%26#39;t want to spend time on the beach!

What do you think?

Block Island in May is just a nice as in the summer. There are plenty of hiking trails (called Greenway Trails) through Rodmans Hollow or up around and along Mansion Beach. The island is a ';getaway'; from everyday life and if treated that way, Block Island can be a paradise no matter when you visit.

We went late April once for our anniversary and we had pretty good weather for that time of year. The hotel ( I think it was the 1661 Inn) was very nice, we had a beautiful Ocean view room. We ate at the Spring House and food was great. We don%26#39;t bike or hike and lots of shops were closed, so we were a little bored. I guess it really depends on what activities you like and what kind of weather you get. Early May could go either way with the weather, better be prepared with a good book just in case. We did drive around the Island a lot and visited a couple beaches and the lighthouses.
