Don%26#39;t know of anything personally, but the Block Island Chamber of Commerce web site has a section devoted to weddings; you might get some leads from that. Just be aware that if you have to bring anyone over to the island, like a dj or band (or anything else not already on the island), it%26#39;s probably going to cost you much more than it would on the mainland.

i%26#39;m from block island and i have to say The Atlantic Inn on High Street is a great location. although it is not %26#39;on the ocean%26#39;, the view from the lawn and front of the inn is spectacular and is a great spot for a wedding. September is a great month to get married %26#39;on the block.%26#39; the island is a little more quiet than summer and the ocean is still warm enough to swim in and the temp is just right. call The Atlantic for more info. sunny37dgh@hotmail.com

Hello! If you are planning on getting married on Block Island, you will need to book this NOW. A lot of the places book up 2 years in advance. Not to scare you!!! I agree with the other person that the Atlantic Inn is beautiful...but it all depends on what you are looking for and how many people you are having. If you want a beautiful place closer to the water with spectacular views, I would, without a doubt, get married and have my reception at the Spring House Hotel. It is gorgeous, the rooms are nice, the lounge/bar (called Victorias) is beautiful, the outdoor patio is ideal for a clambake /rehearsal dinner... they have a van to pick guests up at the ferry. The food is superb (although so is the Atlantic Inn) and the staff is GREAT!!!!!! I would look at the Spring House first, Atlantic Inn as a close 2nd. Other options are the Narragansett Inn (close to the water but not as nice). I think the website is www.springhousehotel.com but not entirely sure. Good luck!!!

Hi there- I actually got married at the 1661 Inn. It is a beautiful location as you have the entire Inn to yourself and have unobstructed views of the water. The other benefit of this location besides privacy and beauty is the terrace and covered porch. If you have poor weather or think there is a chance of having poor weather the Covered Porch works wonders as you are outside but inside at the same time. The food is absolutely out of this world and not to mention the view...I know I sound like a broken record.

The Spring House is indeed a beautiful location but they do have some requirments that need to be met people wise otherwise you will be dolling out extra money for the unfilled spots. Lastly, the Spring House will block rooms for you but unless you are renting the entire place they will have other guests staying and mingling about your private event. They will close the bar to outsiders however. I know of other places on the island as well beyond the Atlantic and Spring House. Give the 1661 Inn a whirl you might be pleasantly surprised!! Congrats and good luck.

Hi - I got married at the Sullivan House in the fall of 2004. If you are looking for something a little bit different than the hotel experience, I would recommend the Sullivan House. I checked out the other locations, but found the Sullivan House to be the most elegant and the most unique. It is also the only outdoor location that can handle big weddings. You have the whole place to yourselves, and the personal attention and professionalism of the staff is awesome - especially for such an important day. The grounds are massive with rolling green fields right on the ocean and the pond. The views are simply the best. Wherever you go - Block Island is a great place to married - good luck!!!!

Hi! I am getting married at the Sullivan House in August 2007! My fiance searched thru Newport, Little Compton, and were so stressed we decided to go to BI for a breather. You can see the gorgeous white tents of the Sullivan from the harbor as you sail in. From our interactions thus far, the staff have been so open and professional - because I am Indian and my fiance African-American, we are having sort of a crazy ';fusion'; wedding and the staff have been really excited about coming up with something that represents both of us. Also, the Sullivan House was recommended by all the vendors we met with in the RI area (florists, hair/makeup, photographers, etc.). Hope this helps!
