comedy shows and other nightlife

we are coming out for a long weekend (3 nights) and don%26#39;t want to spend each night in a bar or in the room- (I can%26#39;t believe I just typed that :) .... Seriously, does anyone know of any comedy clubs in the area or in Providence to go to at night.?I went on a few websites looking and didn%26#39;t really see anything. We are open to a show, concert or play....Thanks for any suggestions. - Oh we are coming from May 10th to 13th -

Newport doesn%26#39;t have any comedy clubs or very exciting night life - but providence is only 35 minutes away.

Depending on your age -

Boom Boom disco - very small bar/dance floor at the bottom of clarke cooke house - always a good time

One Pellham - rock and roll music

Newport Blues Cafe

There are two places to see a play - firehouse theatre and Newport playhouse - nothing spectacular

You are also 50 miles from foxwoods and mohegan sun......spoiled for choise there.

Check out the Newport Playhouse. They have dinner theater and cabaret and pretty much stick to light comedies. It%26#39;s near the rotary at the end of O%26#39;Connell Highway, just a few minutes north of the Thames Street area. For more info, see their website: newportplayhouse.com
