Hotel recommendation for girls weekend?

Hi,

My friends and I (mid-20%26#39;s) are looking to plan a girls weekend in Newport this summer. Where do you suggest we stay to be close to the beach and/or nightlife? Recommendations for restauarants and bars would be great, too.

Thanks!

I think you guys will enjoy a long weekend in Newport, more than the Cape. I%26#39;d suggest somewhere downtown. There are several Hotels near all the action Mariott, Newport Harbor Hotel, Inn on the Harbor the Hotel Viking. They Hyatt is nice too, although it%26#39;s out on goat island. It%26#39;s a little walk to downtown but not bad on a nice day. They also have a shuttle van that drops you off downtown too. A couple of smaller hotels are the Jailhouse Inn and the America%26#39;s Cup Inn.

There are also lots of B%26amp;B%26#39;s around....go to www.gonewport.com for a whole list of those.

Restaurants, Lots to choose from:

Casual: Brick Alley, Red Parrot, Salas%26#39;, Scales and Shells, Zeldas

Nicer: Mooring, 22 Bowens, Clarke Cooke House, Rhumbline,West Deck White Horse Tavern, Tuckers, Pronto

Bars/Lounge: 5th Element, Salvation Cafe, 180,

Mudville Pub, Buskers, Garden Grill (Soon to be Gaslamp)

Pelham, Blues Cafe, Rhino Bar, the Landing, West Deck, Riptide, Cooke House, Smoke House, H20...many many many more

The best beach in the area during the day is 2nd Beach, you would have to drive, or take the trolley as it%26#39;s a couple miles out of downtown.

First beach is OK, but not the best, but in the summer the Atlantic Beach Club is full of 20-30 somethings hanging out, drinking and listening to the bands...the water is not as nice for swimming at 1st beach though.

Lot%26#39;s of things to do for 20-somethings.....I think you%26#39;ll like Newport better than the Cape (from your earlier post)

Thank you so much for your help. I have some research to do now.

I like thinking about summer while we%26#39;re being slammed with snow up here in MA right now!

Thanks again!
