Spiced Pear Restaurant

Has anyone been here? What did you think...We are thinking of it for Easter. Thanks!

Spiced Pear Restaurant

Just ate there but just in the Bistro - service is excellent and the location and view is probably the best in town. Food quality is high but wasn%26#39;t quite sure about that roasted garlic with the bread. Great selection of wines starting at about $30 a bottle and up to over $1000. For Easter? Personally, I gave up going to restaurants on heavy traffic days. Always crowded and usually a dissappointment. Go on a slower night and get more for your money. Other place to consider would be the White Horse Tavern.

Thanks :) we are going to be up in Newport for the weekend so that%26#39;s why we are going out- at home we never even think of it on holiday%26#39;s for exactly the reasons you mentioned!

Stay away from the Spiced Pear! I took my husband to this restaurant for his birthday and it was a nightmare from start to finish. We got attitude from the valet right on down, to say the service was lacking is an understatement. My husband%26#39;s steak was over cooked but our waiter never checked back with us, we had to pour our own wine and evrything is extremley over priced. As far as we are concerned Restaurant Bouchard is the best restaurant in Newport and like the previous poster said the White Horse Tavern is great too. Look under the Chanler for more reveiws of the Spiced Pear, the Spiced Pear is located inside the Chanler which is a hotel in Newport. For anyone to say that this restaurant is a four star restaurant is laughable. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else and have a Happy Easter.
