Providence is a beautiful city with wonderful restaurants. Rhode Island School of Design has an outstanding art museum. There are walkways along the three rivers in the city that have many explanatory murals from the R.I. Historical Society that create an outdoor museum. Benefit Street with its preserved 18th and early 19th century homes is also fun to explore on foot. Visit the First Baptist Church in America built in 1775 and the John Brown House 1786 to see lovely Georgian architecture.

Sticklegs, you don%26#39;t say when you%26#39;re planning your visit. If it%26#39;s during the summer, there is a thing on the river called Waterfires. It is beautiful. It takes place at night, and gets extremely crowded, so if you opt for this, plan ahead. Google Waterfires, Providence, RI for more info. Also, the stroll along the river in itself is very nice. Many upscale restaurants along the river as well. There is a place called Federal Hill in Providence that offers unbelievable Italian cuisine. The only problem there is choosing which restaurant!
