I will be coming into Newport by boat. The boat will stay in Newport and I need to rent a car to get home. Does anyone have suggestions? Is it better to take a taxi from the marina to a car rental in Newport or should I use public transportation to get into Providence? The local Thrifty car rental apparently does not allow one-way rentals. Thanks!

Enterprise rental car states they will come to you in their adveritsements. You may want to check with them. Having them come to you may be the easist option.
