Location ?

We are attending a wedding in October. We haven%26#39;t received the invitation yet but I believe it is in Narragansett as the two recommended hotels (which the ';save the date'; says are within walking distance) got very, very bad reviews on here. If we stayed in a hotel in Providence is it an easy, relatively cheap taxi ride from Providence to Narragansett? Thanks!

Location ?

No, probably not, Naragansett is on the ';other end of the state'; than Providence - probably about 45 minutes to an hour away depending on factors like traffic and weather. Even though its not far distance wise, it is far in the minds of Rhode Islanders.

I would say you would be better off trying to find a hotel in naraganesett other than the two listed or if you want to stay somewhere else, Newport would be a better option than Providence in terms of time and cost for a taxi service.

What hotels are they, maybe locals here could give Naragansett area options other than the two selected for you?

Location ?

Thanks, the two hotels are the Village Inn at the Pier and the Atlantic House.

How far of a drive is it from Naragansett to Newport and would we have a problem getting a cab?

Also, we plan to spend the day before at Foxwoods, can you tell me how far of a drive that is?

Thanks!

Foxwoods to narragansett would be about 30-40 minutes.

I dont have any personal knowledge of those hotels or any in Narragansett but others here might be able to voice an opinion.

Narragansett to Newport is probably about a 25-35 minute drive.

The only taxi information I have for that area is a link I found for the Kingston Amtrak station - see link below. it lists other ground transportation available for that area. You might be able to find out about the availability of taxis from one of those phone numbers. Kingston is very close to Narragansett (maybe even a part of Narragansett? - not sure exactly)

I live in Wakefield, just over the border from Narragansett. We actually stayed in the Village Inn on our wedding night 8 years ago and loved it. We%26#39;ve also had out of town guests stay there since and they loved it. It%26#39;s directly across the street from the ocean with a pretty good restaurant, Amalfi, downstairs. A third choice would be the Holiday Inn in South Kingstown (Wakefield). I%26#39;ve had family stay there too and they say it%26#39;s a typical Holiday Inn. But, if you%26#39;re not going to have a car, I%26#39;d pick the Village Inn.

We are about a 45 minute drive from both Providence and Foxwoods casino. You could rent a car or there may be organized tours that would pick you up at the hotel and take you to Foxwoods. I always drive so I never looked into it. I just tried a google search and all that comes up is a ton of articles on the Narragansett Indian%26#39;s attempts to build their own casino.

Your best bet is probably to rent a car.

It just occurred to me, you may like a bed %26amp; breakfast type place better. There are quite a few around here but I%26#39;ve never stayed in any of them so I can%26#39;t help much.

If you google Narragansett Bed %26amp; Breakfast you%26#39;ll get tons of hits.

I noticed a couple on Boon Street. That road runs about 1 block behind where the Village Inn and Ocean Rose are. Maybe one of those got better reviews?
