Small group of us (16) coming to RI in late April to see a PawSox game. We%26#39;d like to make a weekend of it but need ideas of what else to do, where to stay, restaurant suggestions, etc. Would like to do all not too far from stadium. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Ideas for April visit??
Downtown Providence is a convenient place to stay. From here you can walk to wonderful restaurants downtown, along the riverwalk and in Federal Hill. You can explore the history of the city on foot. Walking tours with a guide can be arranged if you desire. You may contact me for more details.
There aren%26#39;t very good hotel options right in Pawtucket. You might want to check out neighboring Attleboro, MA (Holiday Inn Express) or Lincoln, RI (Marriott Courtyard).
Kind of have to agree that there%26#39;s more to do in Providence than Pawtucket but you might want to check out the Slater Mill in Pawtucket, where the Industrial Revolution started.
The others gave some good suggestions for sites to see what%26#39;s going on in town when you arrive. I%26#39;d also check out www.waterfire.com to see if there%26#39;s a WaterFire in Providence that weekend. And be sure to take a stroll on Federal Hill in Providence - wherever you stop you%26#39;re guaranteed to get a good meal!

I鈥檝e been preoccupied with the Holidays so I missed this one but a bit more information from you as to the kind of group may help in directing you to the best choice for lodging and activities.
The group of 16 is it 8 couples or 16 wild and crazy guys, then the Comfort Inn in Pawtucket may be your best alternative.
Also are you looking at budget or a certain price range or do you want something special.
If it is couples you may want to try a Bed and Breakfast as an alternative that may have a nice common area to relax and get together before or after the game.
In addition to all the choices mentioned you could try Seekonk it is just is close as Providence or any of the other towns mentioned and there are a lot of choices.
You may not be able to walk to restaurants but you may save your self a few dollars.
In addition to all the activities mentioned you may have a preference on what you would like to see or do it would help to make a weekend since there is a variety of things to do.
There is a good neighbor hood restaurant in Pawtucket on Central Avenue not far from the stadium called the Hose Company it is in an old brick renovated firehouse good food reasonable prices and casual. Perfect for a pre or post game dinner. 401-722-7220

There is a Comfort Inn right off Rt 95 with a pretty decent ';Ground Round'; restaurant attached. This will probably be your best bet for price and is 10 minutes from the Stadium. Federal Hill is our Italian section
With all due respect to Pawtucket..... there is no reason to spend anytime there (except to see the Paw Sox)while you are in RI. Plan on eating/staying in Providence as there are many terrifc restaurants and plenty of nightlife if you are interested... As far as hotels go, let me know your budget but some average priced ones are The Marriot, Holiday Inn (next to the civic center) and the Radisson.... if you have a few bucks to spend then it would be worth looking into the Westin... if you can narrow down what you are looking for re: dining I would be happy to give you my 2 cents

I%26#39;d like to visit Providence overnight. I%26#39;d like to stay at a reasonable hotel that I could walk to things. Is there such a place? What about nightlife. I don%26#39;t require nightclubs per se, but a nice sports bar. I%26#39;ll be there for Cinco De Mayo so any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.
I have stayed at Hotel Dolce Villa (right now the number one rated hotel) It is great! full kitchens 1 or 2 bedroom suites w/ fireplaces plenty of room and FREE PARKING. With a whole group that definitely helps. If your group is all friends and family you can get a few two bedroom suites and then only need one or two one bedroom suites. That will definitely cut costs with sharing suites rather than having 8 separate rooms. Great little Plaza and tons of things to walk to!!
I%26#39;m heading to Providence tomorrow night actually and staying at the Providence Marriott. However, in the past my husband and I have gone up for PawSox games too, and we%26#39;ve just headed a little further north up to North Attleboro to stay as well. Lots to do up that way too! However, I%26#39;m sure more nightlife is to be found in Providence
