Newport for our Honeymoon?

I am looking into possible honeymoon destinations for September 5-10. What recommendations do you have for the area? We would like to be within access to a beach and modern amenities. I have also been looking at the Eastern Shores in Virginia and Rockport (Cape Ann) Massachuesetts. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I live in newport and LOVE IT!! however for a honeymoon I would recommend marthas vineyard. very romantic that time of year.

Early September on the Maine Coast is beautiful. Take a look into Camden or Boothbay.

Newport after Labor Day, until Columbus Day, is the BEST time of year to visit. The crowds are gone, the weather is usually outstanding in the early fall and the beaches are uncrowded (and free parking!), the restaurants and other visitor attractions are easier to get into, folks are more relaxed now that the summer crush has passed etc.

Newport for your honeymoon at that time of year is perfect. As a local, my husband and I prefer Newport in the fall. You will too.

If you decide on Newport for your honeymoon I would recommend a beach house at Castlehill. You will be right on a small, private beach. It is very romantic and private. Go to the web site and look at the reviews on this site. You will not be disappointed.

Couldn%26#39;t agree more with the Castle Hill suggestion. The beach houses are beautiful! Food and service at the Inn are top notch. We got engaged and later married in Newport...but honeymooned in St John. Newport is our home away from home. I know you%26#39;ll love it there!

you shouldn%26#39;t want anything to do with Cape Ann (Rockport) for a honeymoon - unless you are only into fried seafood, ocean water so cold you have to get the courage to go in... and so much traffic into and out of Boston (should you choose to go there one night). Newport, RI is tough too... very nice, but too far away from anything else in New England... If you want the perfect place - look to Martha%26#39;s Vineyard or any part of the Cape. That is the day after Labor Day - you%26#39;ll have cleared out all the summer folk by then.
