My wife and I are thinking of traveling from Grand Rapdis, MI out east for our first anniversary. It seems there is so much to do. We love the beach, dining/drinking socially, and visiting various attractions such as musems, mansions, zoos, etc. We are thinking Rhode Island might be a nice place to ';call home'; for a few days, but don%26#39;t know where to stay. We are a bit budget conscious. Any suggestions?

In the summer the RI coast is far from what I would consider as budget conscious. Any hints what you look at as ';budget';?

Newport has some great Mansions to visit and is a nice touristy area. Check out Providence great things to do the Roger Williams Park and Zoo really a great Park with an excellent Zoo. Their restaurants were fabulous... We stayed at an inn The Edgewood Manor which was walking distance to the Roger Williams Park if was fantastic. Then we stayed at an inn in Newport The Cliffside inn that was great but a tad pricy but who %26#39;s counting. Providence had better restaurants they have a place called Little Italy Federal Hill lots of good food there. I would check out those spots We found a nice beach in Narragansett to visit as well. Rhode Island is so beautiful and you are able to get to a bunch of little towns in no time to shop and explore a great visit for us.
