Providence airport to Warren

We are taking a cruise out of Warren. We fly into Providence, RI airport. What is the best mode of transportation to get to Warren. How are is it? Also, after the cruise, we plan to spend a few days in Boston before flying home again from Providence. What is the best transportation for us from Warren to Boston and back to Providence? We really don%26#39;t want to have to mess with a car rental.

Thanks!

Providence airport to Warren

Hi:

The best way from the airport to warren without renting a car is either cab or bus. To look at the bus schedules, google RIPTA the public transit agency for Rhode island. Although a trip from the airport to warren would require a tranfer in providence. Depending on the amount of time you have, you might find that a cab is your best bet. But there is the chance the place you are going in warrne is directly on a bus line so, maybe the bus could prove to be easy.

I dont know how much a cab would cost but it is about a 30-40 minute drive as warren is on the other side of the bay from the airport so to get there you would have to go up to providence and then back down to warren.

As for Providence to Boston, my favortie mode is the amtrak - it is about 1 hour trip and can cost as low as around 30.00 per trip. Another way is the Bonanza bus, a nice private bus company that I have always found to be a step above greyhound in terms of clientel and cleanliness.

Schedules for these services can be found on their web sites.

I hope this helps.

I live in Bristol,RI which is the town over and about 2 minutes from where your catching your boat.

But the best way for you to get to the dock would be a cab.The bus route doesn%26#39;t bring you very close to the dock and not only that depending on what time you get back you might not be able to catch a bus.The last bus runs through Warren around 11:00 pm.

Is it a day cruise?or longer?

Going into Boston you can either do a train or a cab..

Thanks for the info. We are actually going on a 5 night cruise touring the islands of Cape Cod and Rhode Island. It%26#39;s a lighthouse viewing cruise. We depart middle of the day on Friday and return mid-morning on Wednesday. So, it would be Wednesday that we%26#39;ll be trying to get to Boston.

We are planning to fly into Providence Thursday. I%26#39;ve searched Warren online and don%26#39;t find any hotels listed there. So, we may spend the night in Providence and then get a taxi to the port of Warren early the next morning.

Really appreciate your help! This is our first time to your area and we%26#39;re really excited about it!

I know that cruise..I%26#39;ve been on it once..You should enjoy yourself,it%26#39;s a great way to get to know the area. Are you guys taking the Grande Mariner or the Grande Caribe? Either are great and you%26#39;ll enjoy yourself.

But yes there isn%26#39;t any hotels in the Warren.It%26#39;s a real small town..The one big thing that alot of people don%26#39;t know is that the airport is actually in a town called Warwick,RI and not in Providence. Providence is actually two towns over from the airport. (Don%26#39;t ask me why they consider it to be in Providence, cause I could never figure that out).So if you wanna find a place to stay you should look at Warwick,RI. There%26#39;s a few places to stay in the area of the airport that offer airport pick ups...

I have been to your neck of the woods many times.(Florida Keys that is) and love it and I will keep going back. So I hope you feel the same way about my area and you guys have fun.. ;o)

We%26#39;ll be on the Caribe. We%26#39;re really excited. We generally go to Nova Scotia a couple of times a year and decided this year to see some of New England.

Glad you like the Keys! It%26#39;s beautiful. If those hurricanes will give a rest, it could be perfect!
