Well, they certainly sound familiar, but I think I%26#39;m either ahead or behind their generation. I can%26#39;t remember if I heard them being talked about before I was going to clubs, or after I stopped!
boys mom 2 . I%26#39;m sure these were before your time . I%26#39;m interested in how your dining went in Newport RI .
Oh!! Well, let%26#39;s see. We had dinner our first night at Perini... pretty big disappointment. We found the food really bland. Didn%26#39;t even bother finishing our meals...
We had lunch at Castle Hill the next day, that was GREAT. The view alone was worth it. Then that night we had dinner at 22 Bowens. We really enjoyed that. The staff is very knowledgable and the food was great.
Saturday we had a late lunch at Red Parrott. That was good, but I wasn%26#39;t crazy about the attitude of the waitress, so that kind of ruined it for me. I had a salad that was good (can%26#39;t remember the name), but VERY spicy (hot). It didn%26#39;t mention on the menu that it would be, so it was a bit of a surprise, but I%26#39;m OK w/hot food.
Being that we had a late lunch, we weren%26#39;t really hungry for much of a dinner, so at about 9:00 we went to Black Pearl and I had a cup of soup and hubby had little necks. That was perfect for what we were looking for.
Breakfast each morning was amazing. We stayed at Hydrangea House, and they prepare gourmet breakfasts that%26#39;ll knock your socks off.
Thanks for asking!!
BTW, we chose Bowens instead of Coast Guard House because it%26#39;s our first time in Newport and wanted to stay centrally located so we could walk to the restaurants instead of drive. Next time we go, I think we%26#39;ll venture out a bit and probably go there.
