are there any Newport lodgings with contemporary flair?

Touring the mansions is something I%26#39;m looking forward to, but I%26#39;d prefer to spend this particular stay somewhere with stylish 21st century decor -- but not a ';cookie cutter'; hotel chain. My %26#39;net surfing tonight has yet to yield anything promising, so I%26#39;m turning to you all in the hopes that you can give me some leads for an anticipated 2-3 day visit in a couple of weeks (price range up to $300/night).

The Chanler Hotel is ';over-the-top'; contemporary. Some love it, others think it is overdone. Service can be a bit shaky, they are still trying to get their act together after changing managment last year, but it is contemporary. Can be overpriced unless you find a promotional deal.

The Mill St. Inn is another inn with contemporary decore. It%26#39;s less expensive than the Chanler, not the same level of services, but it works for a lot of people, especially because it is within walking distance of the downtown area.
