We are going to celebrate our 10th anniversary in Aug and we were wondering if Block Island would be a good choice for a 4 day weekend. Also, I would appreciate suggestions on where to stay and a special restaurant for dinner. Thanks
New to Block Island; Good for 10th Anniversary??BI would be perfect that time of year (book now), and if you can wait for the week after labor day the island will be a bit quieter (kids back in school, more rooms available, weather still perfect, rates begin to drop). I would suggest staying at either the Blue Dory Inn or the Spring House. My wife and I have been vacationing on BI for the past 6 years and have stayed all over the island at various B%26amp;B%26#39;s and hotels. We have always found the Blue Dory and Spring House to be the most conistent and romantic. Keep in mind all the rooms on BI aren%26#39;t going to offer the space and modern amenities of a Marriot. For the most part these are old Victorian houses/hotels. For a ';special restaurant'; for dinner I would start with a cocktail on the porch at the spring house but don%26#39;t eat there. Head to either the Mannisses or Atlantic Inn. Hope this is helpful.
