What is the best way to get from Providence to Newport without renting a car?

As far as getting to Newport from Providence if you%26#39;re going anytime before Oct -ish you can take the Prov-Newport Ferry. I believe it%26#39;s something like $16 a person, round trip. Or the public bus also goes there and that%26#39;s only a couple bucks each way. I%26#39;ve never taken the Ferry, but in college we took the bus down and it wasn%26#39;t too bad.

Hotels I%26#39;m not too sure about. I went to college in Providence so I never had to stay in a hotel there. However there%26#39;s a lot of places to choose from. Depends on what you%26#39;re looking to spend.

Also, are you actually staying IN Providence? A lot of people say Providence when they mean another city.
