Block Island for Memorial Day

My husband and I are considering going to Block Island for the Memorial Day weekend. Neither of us has never been and are wondering if this is a good time to go. We don%26#39;t have any children and like to go away to relax. Places we%26#39;ve loved in the past are North Conway, NH %26amp; Hyannis, MA. We%26#39;re hoping May is a better time to go to BI than in the summer when the peak season hits. Our biggest question is will it be crowded for this holiday. We%26#39;re also concerned about accomodations. It seems there are many bed %26amp; breakfasts. We tend to prefer nice hotels. Any tips??

Thanks!!

Well, the weather and crowds won%26#39;t matter if you prefer nice hotels with spacious comfortable rooms and dining on site, etc. Block Island is a charming place to visit and part of that charm is the bed %26amp; breakfast places to stay. There are no hotel chains on the island.

If you still wish to go, I believe Memorial Day is the weekend that most restaurants / shops begin to open for the season. I don%26#39;t think it would be overly crowded.

All hotels on the island all very old the larger hotels are the Spring House and the National. Visit the Block Island Tourism page to further assist you in finding a place. As an earlier person wrote the B%26amp;B%26#39;s out there are many and very charming. I would look into the 1991 House as a choice. I went to the brunch they put out, WOW! Makes me hunger just thinking back to it! To bad you will not be able to swim in the cool Atlantic waters at that early time of season. It is most refreshing! I hope you enjoy.
