Are there any trolleys that take you around the island ? Any other mode of transportation once you get there or is everything walking distance from the ferry ?

The best way to get around on Block Island is to bring your mountain bikes. That might be tough seeing that you%26#39;re comin from Indiana. They do have plenty of bike rental spots in the downtown area, walking distance from the ferry. You can charter a bus, but it%26#39;s expensive. Taxis aren%26#39;t bad. Depending on where you%26#39;re staying, you can walk to the downtown area for dinner and drinks pretty easily. To navigate the island, definitely use the bikes. HAve fun--it%26#39;s a great island!

Thanks for the info, we are just coming over for the day , not sure we could do bicyles.

You can rent scooters for the day. There are several rental agents right where the ferry docks. Most everything is within walking distance though. And there are taxis that will give you a tour of the island for a nominal fee.
