Which b%26amp;b would you recommend for a Newport weekend getaway: the Hydrangea House Inn or the Francis Malbone House? Both look lovely, and we%26#39;re not sure how to decide
Hydrangea House or Francis Malbone?
I haven%26#39;t heard of the Hydrangea House Inn but I stayed at Francis Malbone for a long weekend and a blast. I proposed during our trip.
The staff is very friendly and the tea/snacks were excellent! They worked with me to have flowers, champagne and strawberries in the room when we returned from dinner to surprise my spouse. We adored our courtyard room (it shared a private courtyard).. its part of the newer wing. We ate breakfast each morning in the main courtyard (shown on malbone.com); its very romantic. The location of the inn was nice and close to everything.
They have a new inn as well but I have only looked at the website, http://www.hilltopnewport.com.
I assume you looked at Francis Malbone%26#39;s website, malbone.com
Hydrangea House or Francis Malbone?
Just the opposite for me. We stayed at the Hydrangea House and found it to be wonderful. Read my review...it%26#39;s titled Perfect Inn.
It%26#39;s located in walking distance to most of the restaurants and just a few short blocks away from Thames Street which is where all of the action is. The rooms are just gorgeous, even more so than online! Their breakfasts are amazing. When are you going? Most of the rooms have their own fireplaces and hot tubs, so if you%26#39;re going in the fall or winter, you can cozy up.
