Might someone who lives in Newport suggest a source

for finding an apartment very close to the downtown area?

There are 6 adults coming for a week, the middle of next Sept. and we would like to rent a 3 or 4 bedroom apt. with a kitchette within

walking distance of the city centre. Perhaps even a house.

I would start by trying to find a timeshare rental at the Fairfield Longwharf Resort. It has 3 BR units with FULL kitchen and washer and dryer. It%26#39;s a great location and lobster can be purchased from boats that dock right across the street. It has a large pool that will probably be closed when you%26#39;re there but also a small pool that%26#39;s open year %26#39;round. The people at pronewport.com are very nice but you%26#39;d be better off starting your search by googling ';timeshare rentals newport rhode island.'; You%26#39;ll find all the dealers. Their sites list dozens of leads. Redweek.com is also an excellent source. I recently responded to an ad and paid the 9.99 to get in touch with the person who listed the rental. He had not taken the listing down when he should have and redweek gave me a credit for the 9.99 without hesitation.
