Night Strolling

Hi,

We%26#39;re going to be staying at the Hydrangea House on Bellevue Ave. Just wondering if it%26#39;s safe to stroll at night, to and from restaurants, etc. or if it%26#39;s best to drive.

First time there, so we%26#39;re unfamiliar w/the layout of the land.

You%26#39;%26#39;ll be fine walking Church street down to Thames at night . But the town does get very empty after midnight or so . You get the college kods leaving the clubs around 12:45 -1am if you wan%26#39;t some people out while you walk .

PS if you want some live music ,and bar food till midnite, The Newport Blues Cafe is good, and on Thames a few blocks west of Mary , just before the Red Parrot . They have free parking , but usually a $5 adm. charge .

Correction : Newport Blues Cafe is EAST of Mary St. Make a Left when you get to Thames from the Hydranger House .

Newport is a very safe town. Being from Long Island, you will feel very comfortable there. Not to worry. Enjoy.

Newport is pretty safe at night and as long as you stay in the tourist areas I would think anyone should be ok. So enjoy and make sure you visit the Mansions they are wonderful.

Great, thanks!! Honestly, though, I don%26#39;t think we%26#39;ll make it till Midnight, LOL!! This is our first ';vacation'; away w/out the kids (10 years!!) and we%26#39;ll probably just head back to the room early enough to enjoy the peace and quiet!!
