help with Newport fairfields

I am a little confused about which fairfield is which. There are two that seem to be similar and same picture is used on both. The Inn on Long Wharf and Long Wharf Fairfield. Which is which and is there one that is preferred over the other? On this site it shows two different pictures of Fairfield Inn on Long Wharf and I think they are two different hotels? thanks

Two very different looking properties from the outside (across the street from each other)...one perched on the water (ILF) has windows that appear not to open(big panes of glass) or balconies which looks foolish and hot, the other is brand new (LWF), much bigger and looks much nicer. I would have to think that LWF rooms are bigger and more modern too. I would go LWF based on having walked by them several dozen times, unless they can absolutely assure you of being directly on the harbor at ILW).

Here%26#39;s your answer. I am staying right now at the Long Wharf Resort. This is the one that%26#39;s most commonly used for the pictures and there%26#39;s a good reason why. The Fairfield facility across the Street is Inn On Longwharf and is worlds apart from the Resort. The Inn is terrible and no picture of it would be appealing unless it was very craftily arranged. The Resort is terrific. Guests at the former may use the facilities at the latter: swimming pools, game rooms etc. I wrote a review of Inn of Long Wharf on this site. I also posted some pictures, I recall. Don%26#39;t confuse Inn on Long Wharf with Inn on the Harbor which is also an excellent facility in a perfect location. Respond here if you want more info. I%26#39;m typing this right now looking out my window over the Harbor.

BTW, the official name of the Resort as I found it in the materials that are in the room is ';Fairfield Newport at Long Wharf Resort.'; The address is 5 Washington Street and the direct # is 401 847 7800.

There%26#39;s also a facility on Thames Street named Fairfield On Shore.

It IS very confusing.
