Planning an anniversary trip to Rhode Island in October. Where can we go to see and do the most in our time? We like tours - eating out - bars - Any suggestions?

Well, the obvious answer is Newport. See gonewportri.com for some suggestions on that. Providence itself is another option, but Newport is so geared to tourism.

Of course, there%26#39;s the rest of the state to explore, and October is a great month to visit. There will be fall festivals at various times all around the state, and just nosing around the different towns during the day can be fun. My town of Westerly, tucked into the southwestern corner, is lovely, and there are sweet sections of towns like Bristol and Warren (not far from Newport) that you%26#39;d probably love.

Check out some of the local Chambers of Commerce for more info.

Rhode Island has so many quaint towns to explore. We stayed in Narragansett at the Blueberry Cove Inn and used that as our home-base. We love Wickford and a daytrip to Newport was great (but too expensive for us to stay over there).
