We will be arriving in Newport on Thanksgiving and staying till Sunday. Anyone have suggestions on what%26#39;s going on and any special happenings this weekend in Newport? Appreciate any and all recommendations.
Thanksgiving Weekend in Newport
Marble House, The Elms, and The Breakers (Newport mansions) are decorated for Christmas and open for tours. Go to the Newport Playhouse to see live theatre. The Tennis Hall of Fame has an exhibit. Astor%26#39;s Beechwood (another mansion) has tours, as do some of the other mansions. Try the Newport Dinner Train for something different. Walk around the Thames Street area and get a start on your Christmas shopping -- lots of restaurants there, too. Take a tour at Newport Vineyards. Have a meal at the White Horse Tavern for a colonial experience (you can do lunch there, so it won%26#39;t break the bank). Check with the Newport Visitors Center (right near the Thames Street wharfs) for more ideas.
