Help with place to stay

Please advise best place to stay in Newport - we like comfort and quality. Thanks

Help with place to stay

If you like comfort and quality the Castle Hill Inn is the place. We just stayed there last week and had a marvelous time. It is outside of Newport but only a 5 minute drive or so. Everything about it is perfect. The staff, location, food, could not be better. We stayed in a Beach House (the only way to go!). If interested let me know and I can provide more details.

Help with place to stay

Agreed. Castlehill is the best in Newport. My husband and I have been going for many years and now exclusively stay in Castlehil. See other posting for more info. If you have specific questions, please inquire. Beach houses are the place to stay!

I haven%26#39;t stayed at Castle Hill but I passed it last week when I was in Newport and rode up to the main house. The location was beautiful, overlooking the ocean. And from what I%26#39;ve read the rooms are very nice, though the price might be a problem for some people. I also saw the beach houses they were advertising at a reduced rate and I wasn%26#39;t impressed. They seemed small and though they were right on the water, they were a walk from the main house. The other problem with Castle Hill, and it may not be much of one for some, is that there%26#39;s nothing within walking distance. You need to get in your car to go to town. It really depends on what you want.... convenience or seclusion. We happened to stay at The Francis Malbone House on Thames Street. I could go on about how terrific it was but there are plenty of reviews on here that sing the praises of this wonderful inn. Before you make a reservation anywhere else, you should read what others have to say. Aside from it being close to shopping and restaurants, the staff, food and cleanliness of this establishment would be difficult to match. Wherever you stay, enjoy your time. Newport is a fun place to spend a few days.

Yes, it depends on what you want. Seclusion or to be in town, walking distance to all. I%26#39;ve stayed at the Malbone as well and prefer the seclusion and location of Castlehill. The ';houses'; seen on the way to the Main House as ';small'; were most likely the beach cottages not the beach houses. The beach houses can not be seen from the road on the way to the Main house. You pass the beach cottages on the way up which are, a little on the small side. The beach houses are sizable. Larger than any room at the Malbone. As far as price goes, the beach houses are 329.00 per night, off season during the week. The same room is 1100.00 per night during July and August. The Malbone is very nice, so it is a choice of weather you want to wake up to the waves lapping on the shore each morning or prefer to walk out the door to the shops.
